Pisces Lunar Eclipse, 7th September 2025: A Time to Let Go

Pisces, oasis of the transcendental and deep ocean of the unconscious, hosts tomorrow’s lunar eclipse at 15 degrees.

The imaginal, the dreamworld, and the numinous weave the fluid fabric of the Piscean waterscape, where liminality dissolves boundaries and opens experience beyond the self.

When I think of the Moon in Pisces, reflecting her diffuse, silvery light upon the swelling waters of ancestral, collective, and personal memory — ebbing and flowing to her earth-circling beat — I am reminded that it is our intuitive, non-rational, and hypnagogic selves that both shape and respond to the deeper rhythms of knowing. Indeed, there is a time to know, and a time to let go.

This eclipse asks us to surrender to the intangible, remembering that the free-flowing psychic realm of mythos is as essential as logos, our rational and systematic mode of knowing. We are called to release Virgoan anxiety and the need for constant solutions, systems, analysis, and practicality, and instead dive into the fertile waters of the imagination through meditation, music-making, poetry, free-form dance, channelling, artistic exploration through movement, dreamwork, active imagination, automatic writing, swimming, or flotation.

Such activities suspend the need for order and restore balance between chaos and structure, letting intuition breathe and psychism dance. Here, we encounter the expressions of the archetypal gods or forms around and within us. And when we return from the oceanic dreamworld to the safe solidity of the material world, we may discover a liquid clarity that enables us to make more sense of the rational than reason could ever manage alone.
